Job Summary

Launc[H] is the driving force behind the development of Hartford’s innovation ecosystem. We are led by innovators and entrepreneurs from across our community united by one common goal: making Hartford the best place on the East Coast to start or grow a business. We are seeking an innovative, community-minded individual with a passion for working with entrepreneurs to help shape the growth and development of Hartford’s Innovation ecosystem.

In order to help our emerging community to grow, Launc[H] needs to dedicate more energy to curating the resources needed by emerging and scaling entrepreneurs, and connecting them to the innovators in our community at the right time, and in an accessible format.

The Engagement Manager will lead the fulfillment of these vital functions by working with Launc[H] stakeholders to identify the types of services and support most needed by entrepreneurs; and to build a system that will connect that supply and demand in a fashion that delights its users with its efficiency, accuracy, and implicit passion for customer service.

Once these critical resources and pathways are built, we expect the Engagement Manager to serve as the main point of contact for entrepreneurs and also expect this position to maintain regular contact with Hartford’s growing service provider community, so that resources are kept up to date, and referrals that are made are met with the same type of enthusiasm, and customer service that we extend to the emerging entrepreneurs in our community.

Finally, the Engagement Manger will help to keep Launc[H] web and social channels relevant by working with members of our community to develop and share content that highlights what’s happening, the results of collaboration, and post new information that engages and welcomes new members of our growing community.

The type of person who will fit best within this role will have a passion for entrepreneurship. Being able to understand and intuit the needs of those building a business from scratch is highly valued, as is the ability to listen, and ask insightful questions before making recommendations. We’ll also rely on the person filling this role to help coach those seeking help on the best methods of extracting value from the resources available in Hartford, and to serve as a positive and energetic ambassador for our community.

  • Helping to build community within Hartford’s innovation ecosystem by regularly attending partner events on behalf of Launc[H] to network and build relationships, but also by organizing events that draw the community together periodically, under the Launc[H] umbrella
  • Assisting the Director with business development efforts by engaging new partners in Launc[H] initiatives, and identifying opportunities for new initiatives to be formed through partnership and sponsorship
  • Assisting with marketing and communications of Launc[H] activities, and the contributions of its community partners, so that the resources and expertise available in Hartford are readily available to all those seeking support.
